TÜBİTAK launches new funding programs to support scientific education activities, R&D projects, and international collaborations!

TÜBİTAK to Strengthen Scientific Mobilization with New Support Programs

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) has introduced a new call for applications through its Scientist Support Programs Directorate (BİDEB) to fund scientific education events and training programs at both national and international levels.

Scientific Training Event Support Programs

This initiative aims to promote development in science and technology fields by providing funding for face-to-face and online scientific training activities. Events organized by public institutions and TÜBİTAK will be eligible for financial support.

Project-Based Training Program

TÜBİTAK will fund theoretical and practical project writing training for national and international R&D and innovation projects. The program will cover training sessions for:

PhD students
Researchers with PhD, proficiency in art, or medical specialization degrees

  • Funding Cap: Up to 195,000 TRY
  • Event Duration: Max. 3 days for project training, 7 days for scientific training events

International Collaboration & Event Support

Support for Organizing National Scientific Events

  • Eligible Events: Congresses, conferences, symposia, colloquia, and workshops in Turkey
  • Covers expenses for invited national & international speakers and event organization
  • Funding Cap: Up to 117,000 TRY

Support for Hosting Large-Scale International Events

  • TÜBİTAK aims to encourage major international scientific events to be held in Turkey.
  • Covers travel, accommodation, food expenses, organization, and coordination costs
  • Funding Cap: Up to 365,000 TRY
  • Only one grant per event within a 1-year period

Support for Bilateral Cooperation Agreements

TÜBİTAK will fund joint scientific events hosted in Turkey by local and international researchers.

  • Eligible Countries for 2025: China, Germany, UK, South Korea, Iran, Czech Republic, Serbia, Malaysia, Indonesia
  • Funding Cap: Up to 195,000 TRY

Funding for Attending Scientific Events Abroad

TÜBİTAK will support researchers presenting their work at international conferences and engaging in scientific collaborations.

  • Eligible Events: Physical or online international conferences
  • Covers travel, accommodation, and registration fees
  • Funding Amount: $1,000–$2,000, depending on the country

Funding for Attending National Scientific Events

Researchers wishing to attend scientific events in Turkey can also apply for support.

  • Covers travel, accommodation, and event registration fees
  • Funding Cap: Up to 7,350 TRY

Application Process & Deadline

  • Deadline: February 14, 2025, at 17:30 (TRT)
  • Applications must be submitted via the BİDEB Application and Monitoring System
