A Shining Year with ÖRAV: The 2024 Annual Report is Here!

Established 16 years ago with the valuable contributions of Garanti BBVA, ÖRAV has been a steadfast companion in the professional and personal development journeys of teachers since day one. We know that touching the heart of one teacher means reaching hundreds of students through them. Guided by this awareness, ÖRAV continues to expand its impact every year — reaching not only teachers but also the parents who play a key role in children’s growth. The reflections of these meaningful efforts throughout 2024 are now captured in the newly released Annual Report!

What Stands Out in the Report? Let’s Take a Closer Look:

This year, ÖRAV once again delivered incredible initiatives to stand by our teachers:

• Winds of Innovation: New online programs like Differentiated Instruction, Effective Lesson Design with Contemporary Approaches, and The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Education helped teachers stay aligned with the rapidly changing world of education, significantly supporting their professional growth.
• Introduction to AI: Through the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Education program, teachers discovered how to integrate AI into their lessons ethically and effectively, opening the doors to tech-savvy, innovative education processes.
• Mid-Year Workshops Fostered Solidarity: 1,756 teachers gathered in 57 different workshops, guided by 60 volunteer educators. These meetings not only encouraged knowledge sharing but also demonstrated the power of standing together.
• Running for Good: At the 46th Istanbul Marathon and MaratonIzmir, 105 ÖRAV volunteers ran for a cause. The donations collected helped fund resilience-building programs for teachers, particularly in earthquake-affected regions.
• 10th Education Festival: A celebration where 7,500 teachers engaged in 584 workshops exploring innovative educational approaches, with Garanti BBVA volunteers joining the learning journey.
• Where Art Meets Education: The Culture and Arts Ambassadors Camp brought the healing and unifying power of the arts into education.
• Fighting for Equality with “EşitBiz”: The EşitBiz Project: Inspirational Meeting Conference spotlighted gender equality, providing professional and personal development opportunities for 200 participants.
• Award-Winning Leadership Program: ÖRAV’s Learning Leader Teacher program received an award in the NGO category at the Dünya Newspaper’s Social Impact Awards — a proud achievement!
• Nature, Our First Teacher: Organized in collaboration with Garanti BBVA Investment and İFSAK, the My First Teacher: Nature photography competition and exhibition highlighted the beautiful connection between education and nature.
• Supporting Goodness with İyilik Durağı: The İyilik Durağı online platform served as a bridge for those who wish to support education, providing vital resources for quality learning.
• Small Steps, Big Visits: As part of the 5 Stones Social and Financial Leadership Program, over 1,000 students and teachers visited Garanti BBVA branches, gaining awareness in financial literacy.
• Growing Spirit of Volunteering: ÖRAV’s volunteer network expanded to over 1,000 passionate individuals throughout the year.
