Ministry of National Education's Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Initiative

The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has taken a significant step to enhance digital transformation and data-driven decision-making processes in education. A new department, the Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Applications Department, has been established within the Directorate General of Innovation and Educational Technologies (YEĞİTEK) to promote the effective and secure use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education.

This new unit will leverage AI and big data technologies to improve efficiency in education, optimize data-driven decision-making mechanisms, and develop educational programs to enhance AI literacy.

Digital Transformation in Education with Artificial Intelligence

The Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Applications Department will focus on the following areas:

• AI Applications: Identifying the effective use of AI in education and teaching, developing data-driven educational models.

• Data Management and Strategy: Establishing big data-driven analysis systems to improve decision-making mechanisms in education.

• AI Literacy: Preparing educational materials to help teachers and students use AI technologies consciously and safely.

• Ethical Standards: Ensuring that AI-based educational applications are developed within ethical principles.

Data Security in Education and International Collaborations

The department will work on ensuring the secure and ethical use of educational data. It will develop new policies on data privacy and security while optimizing data analysis modules integrated into educational processes.

Furthermore, international collaborations will be established with organizations such as OECD and UNESCO to strengthen the role of AI in education. These partnerships will promote the expansion of innovative educational applications and the sharing of best practices.

With this new initiative, the Ministry of National Education aims to accelerate digital transformation in education and shape the future of learning experiences with AI-driven solutions.
