In the first part of our effective online orientation resources series, we talked about the importance of managing your orientation content through online resources or integrated with these resources. Now, let's continue to convey the benefits of managing these different channels and your orientation content through these channels.

1. Blogs

They are a very successful source of current news and analysis. It is possible to enable newly recruited employees to easily perceive business processes through carefully prepared articles.

2. Hangouts

Google's hangout feature (Other conferencing tools are also available.) is a great way to bring scattered teams together before the newbie arrives.

3. PDFs (Interactive and static)

PDF documents are very valuable because they are portable. It is a flexible format to embed e-learning course materials for all platforms and devices if you don't need to track scores.

4. Interactive timelines for organization history and story

With quick writing tools, you can prepare these materials quickly and easily. They are also suitable materials to be used to provide background information about the company and the people who work there.

5. Certificates and badges

Certifications and badges are great ways to keep employees new to the e-learning journey positioned at key points. These materials can be in PDF format or you can add badges to your e-learning modules so students can collect them virtually on the go.

6. Forms

It will be helpful if you make available online the forms that the beginner needs to fill out. Using systems that allow viewing existing data online will increase the success in the process. (Especially if you are collecting personal data such as bank account information, you need to be aware of security.) Contact your relevant units, there are definitely forms in your resource management system that you can include in your first e-learning program.

It's a great way to brand learning materials, distribute them quickly, and create a consistent look and feel. Templates can be designed and made available in Word, Powerpoint, and instant e-Learning development tools.

Like message boards, online forums are places where beginners can meet and message others in the e-learning program, track threats, ask and answer questions, and search FAQs.

Microsites are secure sites that can be accessed for specific users and groups in your organization's ecosystem. Lloyds Banking Group is a good example of this. The bank has a special website to communicate with relevant people before and after recruitment. They organize networking events and send congratulatory messages for new hires through this platform.

10. Portals

Of course, you will need a place to safely store all your content. This can be an intranet, a course management system or an e-learning management system. A portal is a gateway to where your materials are stored. The important thing is to make the content easily findable and to make maximum use of this content.

11. Learning Management System (LMS) or Learning Record Repository (LRS)

Whether you're tracking startups recruiting via SCORM or xAPI, you'll definitely need a learning management system or learning record repository.

12. Content Management System (CMS)

Bring all your content and forms together in one easy-to-access portal. This portal can be your Intranet system built on CMS architecture.

13. Applications

You can enable your newly recruited employees to continue their e-learning processes through mobile applications. The news, mini clips, surveys and all information about your business processes in the application will be effective in measuring the knowledge and interest of your employees. It is also possible to harmonize the data you will obtain from these applications with your e-learning systems.
